From the course page go to *Course administration* *> Gradebook setup*. 2. Then, alongside the category for which you would like to change the aggregation method, click **Edit** in the **Action** column. 3. Click **Edit settings**. 4. Find the **Aggregation** setting and change it using the dropdown list. Select from a number of different [aggregation methods](/totara-20/docs/grade-aggregation-methods). 5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click **Save changes**. If you haven't set up categories then all grades will be within the default course grade category (this is the top option), which will show a folder icon and the name of the course. ![Course badge](https://cdn.document360.io/a007399b-031e-436b-999a-528240e16f58/Images/Documentation/course-badge_grading-completion-and-certificates.svg?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-03T22%3A47%3A24Z&se=2026-11-03T23%3A47%3A24Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=2mUxNkzlqPdk6RK3HRgeU%2FCKRJjUdtxFh8QU0chzUZQ%3D)The Totara Academy has a whole course dedicated to using [Grading, completion, and certificates](https://totara.community/course/view.php?id=646) in Totara Learn.
