# Check a user's notification logs

In some cases, you may need to check that a specific user is receiving the correct notifications, such as when a user reports missing notifications.

To check a user's notifications, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to *Quick-access menu > Users*.
2. Either search or scroll down to find the user whose notifications you need to check. Click that user's name to view their profile.
3. In the **Notifications** block, click **View notification logs**.

You will then be able to view the **Notification events** report for the user, and access the reports for specific notifications as required. To find out more about each of these different reports, see [Auditing notifications](/totara-20/docs/auditing-centralised-notifications).
