# Configure forum preferences

Users can individually configure their own forum preferences, including digest type and forum tracking.

To configure your forum preferences, follow these steps:

1. Go to the **Preferences** page from the user menu.
2. In the **User account** section click on the **Forum preferences** link.
3. Configure the [preferences](/totara-20/docs/forum-activity-settings).
4. Click **Save changes**.
