If you’ve enabled autolinking, the category names can be linked along with individual entries. Follow these steps to create a glossary category: 1. Click the **Browse by category** tab in the main page of the glossary. 2. Click **Edit categories** on the left side of the page. 3. Click **Add category** on the resulting Categories page. 4. Give the category a name. 5. Choose whether you want the category name auto linked as well. 6. Click **Save changes**. If you autolink the category name, any occurrence of those words will be linked. When a learner clicks on the link, they will be taken to the **Browse by category** page of the glossary. ## Next steps - [Add glossary entries](/totara-20/docs/add-glossary-entries) - [Import and export glossary entries](/totara-20/docs/import-and-export-glossary-entries) ![Course badge](https://cdn.document360.io/a007399b-031e-436b-999a-528240e16f58/Images/Documentation/course-badge_Glossary-wiki.svg?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-06T06%3A09%3A33Z&se=2026-11-06T07%3A09%3A33Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=F7QIpui%2FUFMhomqsCF50it%2FQ1ksSpohxl4o%2FIV1eWlc%3D)The Totara Academy has a whole course dedicated to using the [Glossary and wiki](https://totara.community/course/view.php?id=351) in Totara Learn.
