# Edit an organisation type

After [creating an organisation type](/totara-20/docs/create-an-organisation-type) you may wish to make changes to it.

To edit an organisation type, follow these steps:

1. Go to *Quick-access menu > Organisations.*
2. Click **Manage types**.
3. Click the cog icon (![cog](https://cdn.document360.io/a007399b-031e-436b-999a-528240e16f58/Images/Documentation/cog.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-29T21%3A39%3A38Z&se=2026-10-29T22%3A39%3A38Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=mzY5XTO4lVkeiQaRpr84UzYTZW9%2FzAccGij04rq2J5I%3D)) in the **Actions** column for the organisation type you wish to edit.
4. Make the required changes.
5. Click **Save changes**.
