# Enable notification logs

To enable [notification logs](/totara-20/docs/auditing-centralised-notifications), follow these steps:

1. Navigate to *Quick-access menu > Configure features > Messaging and notification settings (admin/settings.php?section=advancedfeatures_notifications)*.
2. Ensure that the **Enable notification logs** setting is checked.
3. Optionally change the **Days to keep notification logs** setting if required. By default the notification logs will be kept for 30 days.
4. Click **Save changes**.
