# Enable Totara Mobile

Before you can start using the [mobile app](/totara-20/docs/what-is-totara-mobile) you need to enable it by navigating to *Quick-access menu >* *Plugins > Mobile > Mobile settings* (/admin/settings.php?section=totaramobilesettings).

| **Setting** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| Enable mobile app | Site Administrators can enable the mobile app by ticking the checkbox. The default setting is **No**, meaning the mobile app is disabled. When this setting is turned on the web services are enabled for the Totara app or other apps requesting them. |
| URL scheme | If you have created your own app based on Totara Mobile and have registered a custom URL scheme for it, enter the custom URL scheme here. Totara will use that URL instead of the default. |
