# Move positions in bulk

If you have multiple [positions](/totara-20/docs/what-are-positions) you would like to move from one parent item to another at once then you can do this using a bulk action.

To move positions in bulk, follow these steps:

1. Go to *Quick-access menu > Positions.*
2. Click **Manage positions**.
3. Click the name of the position framework containing the items you need to move.
4. Select **Move** from the **Bulk actions** dropdown menu.
5. Select the positions you wish to move from the left-hand column, then click **Add** to add them to the right-hand column (select multiple items by holding down **C****trl** or **S****hift** on the keyboard).
6. From the **Move selected positions to** dropdown menu, select the new **Parent** position for the selected positions.
7. Click **Move**.
8. Click **Yes**.

The selected position items are now moved.
