If you no longer want a badge you may want to consider disabling it. If you wish to permanently delete it then you can do so, deciding whether or not to also delete any existing issued badges.
The process is the same for course and site badges, the only difference is the path taken to get there.
Delete a site badge
- Go to Quick-access menu > Badges.
- Click the cross icon () next to the badge you want to delete.
- Choose from the two options:
- Click Delete, but keep existing issued badges to mark the badge as retired but allow existing badge holders to retain their badges.
- Click Delete and remove all existing issued badges to remove all badge information, criteria records and any issued badges.
Delete a course badge
- Go to the course containing the badge you wish to delete.
- From the Administration block go to Course administration > Badges > Manage badges.
The Totara Academy has a whole course dedicated to using Open badges in Totara. Here you can learn more on how to use open badges, see best practice, and give it a go yourself.
