Feedback response report source

Site administrators can now use the new Feedback response report source to analyse responses submitted through Feedback activities across the site, consolidating data from multiple courses into a single user report for a site-wide view. The report source supports combining feedback responses with other report fields such as Course, User, and organisational information, and allows shared question labels to be aggregated across activities, making it possible to track trends and build dashboards at an organisational level. This is particularly useful for organisations running enterprise-wide surveys, using shared feedback templates, or managing large volumes of Feedback activities, as it removes the need to review individual activity reports manually.

UX improvements to Certifications & Programs

Totara 20 introduced greater flexibility to Certifications, including multiple paths, smarter re-certification, and reinstatement controls, giving organisations more control over compliance structures and learner progression. Totara 20.0.04 and Totara 20.1 build on this by making certification management simpler and more intuitive. The certification management interface has been refined with more consistent action buttons, improved editing behaviour, and better handling of repeat-loop re-certification paths. The learner journey has also been improved, with direct linking to the next path once a learner is certified and clearer navigation from certification requirements through to the relevant courses.

Outgoing mail settings

Totara now supports sending emails through dedicated plugins for Amazon, SMTP, and Microsoft Graph, reducing reliance on traditional SMTP configuration and preparing for a future where providers such as Google, Amazon, or Microsoft may withdraw SMTP support. Setup is now significantly simpler, replacing a configuration process that previously required more than 20 steps.
