View skills heatmap for your team

The team skills heatmap gives a manager a visual overview of the skills assigned to the users they manage. It displays either a status icon or a skill level indicator for each skill and user combination, allowing the manager to quickly identify strengths and gaps across their team.

To view the skills heatmap for your team, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to People > My team (/local/pathfinder/my_team.php) to open the team heatmap.

2. By default, the heatmap displays a status icon for each skill assigned to each user; hovering over a status icon shows its status name.

3. Use the search field above the user columns to find a specific user.

4. Use the filters to narrow down the skills displayed.

You can also click on a user within the heatmap to open that user's skill profile, providing more detailed information about their skills and achievements.

Each row in the heatmap represents a skill assigned to at least one user. Skills without child skills are displayed within their group, and skills without a parent group are shown under Ungrouped.

Grouping and searching skills

• Skills are grouped by parent skill by default, but can also be grouped by competency roles

• Within each group, only skills without child skills are displayed

• Clicking a group expands it to display all skills belonging to that group

A white cell containing a dash ("-") indicates that the skill is not assigned to that user.

Reviewing heatmap values

The heatmap displays the following calculated values:

• User percentage: The overall percentage of proficient skills for that user

• User group percentage: The percentage of proficient skills for that user within a specific group

• Group average: The average proficiency percentage across all users within a group

• Skill percentage: The percentage of users who are proficient in a given skill

Switch display mode

The heatmap can be switched to By achievement level mode to display achievement levels instead of status icons:

• Each skill is represented by a circular level indicator

• The indicator is divided into segments based on the number of levels defined for the skill

• Filled segments represent the level the user has achieved

• The colour of the filled segments reflects the current skill status

• Hovering over the indicator displays the skill status

Export the heatmap

You can export the heatmap as a CSV or PDF file by clicking the three-dot icon () in the top-right corner and selecting a file format. If filters have been applied to the heatmap, the exported file reflects those filters.
