Add an audience rule set

When creating or editing a dynamic audience, you need to add rules to a rule set (or multiple rule sets) from the available audience rules by following these steps:

  • If editing an existing dynamic audience:

  1. Go to Quick-access menu > Audiences (cohort/index.php).

  2. Click the cog icon () for the relevant audience.

  3. Select the Rules tab.

  • If creating a new dynamic audience:

  1. Go to Quick-access menu > Audiences.

  2. Select the Add audience button.

  3. Complete the settings on the Edit details tab as required.

  4. Click Save changes, you will then be directed to the Rules tab.

Once you are on the Rules tab page:

  1. Select the rule you wish to add to the audience group from the Add rule dropdown menu.

  2. Set the rule options as required.

  3. Click Save.

  4. Repeat to add as many rules as required, either within the same rule set, or in any other rule sets.

  5. Preview potential audience membership changes by clicking Preview from the Pending audience changes pop-up

    This will generate a preview of a paginated table of the audience changes, showing users who will be added and removed. Select the cross icon () to close the preview.

    When a rule change has been made after a preview table is generated, when you select Preview again, the Preview members changes panel needs to regenerate by clicking Regenerate, otherwise, the table displays

    the previous preview result.

  6. Click Confirm to save your changes, or Cancel (all unsaved/unconfirmed rule changes will be reset).

Rule set settings

Once you have added at least one rule to a rule set, you can edit the rule set, including:

  • Editing the title of the rule set

  • Changing the logic of the rule set by choosing how the rules in this set are evaluated (if you have two or more rules in your set):

    • All rules are met (AND): This means a user must meet all the rules in the rule set

    • Any rule is met (OR): The user must meet at least one of the rules within the rule set

To edit the rule set settings:

  1. Click the pencil icon ( ) on the rule set.

  2. Edit the Title and/or Logic as required.

  1. Click the tick icon () to save changes.

  2. From the Pending audience changes pop-up, click Confirm changes or Cancel changes.
