    Edit a notification

    Article Summary

    Edit a site-level notification

To edit a notification at the site level, follow these steps:

    1. Go to Quick-access menu > Notifications.
    2. Expand the feature (e.g. Seminar) and notification trigger for the notification you wish to edit.
    3. Click the icon of three dots (three_dots(1)) next to the notification, then select Edit.
    4. If the notification is a Custom notification then you can simply edit the notification settings as required. If the notification type is Factory or Inherited then you will need to click the override toggle () before editing each setting.
    5. Click Save.

Changes to a notification at the site level will be inherited to the notification in lower contexts (where it has not been edited or overwritten).

Edit a notification at a lower context level

If you are editing a Custom notification created in the current context then you will have the same editing options as you would when creating the notification. If you are editing a Factory or Inherited notification, then you can override the inherited properties, except for the title. To change an inherited property, click the override toggle () next to the property. If a property is not overridden, then any change made in a higher context will automatically be applied in this context. If a property is overridden, then any change made in a higher context will have no effect.

It is possible to override a setting without making a change to the setting, in order to prevent any change from a higher context from affecting the setting in the current context. For example, the Status of a notification could be overridden and set to Enabled, in order to prevent the notification from being disabled if the notification is later disabled in a higher context. If you disable the override of a property, then the value of that property will immediately revert to the inherited value, and any changes subsequently made to the notification in a higher context will be reflected in the notification in the current context.

See the following pages for instructions on editing notifications for different features at lower context levels:
